Cassandra Chen
Cassandra completed her undergraduate degree in the Biochemistry Co-op program at McMaster University with a specialization in Biomedical Research. During her studies she was interested in studying both metabolism and immunology and therefore she chose to pursue her graduate research in the field of immunometabolism by becoming a Masters student in the laboratory of Dr. Jonathan Schertzer. Her thesis project focused on how gut microbiota impacts glucose tolerance and whether this effect can be transferred between species.
Her hobbies include playing the piano and percussion, exploring new restaurants, reading and gaming.
