DANA KUKJE ZADA

Dana completed her Bachelor of Science in the Biochemistry program at McMaster University. Throughout her undergraduate career, she has been involved in different research fields through her involvement with the Synthetic Biology Research Team at McMaster and through her fourth-year honours thesis. After completing her bachelor's degree, Dana worked at Virox Technologies Inc. as a Microbiology lab technician where she continued to enhance her laboratory skills. Her interest in research pushed her to continue her education as an MSc student at the Schertzer Lab. Here, she is investigating D-lactate metabolism and its role in increased blood-glucose in a metabolic associated steatohepatitis (MASH) mouse model. Outside of the lab, Dana enjoys going on walks, painting, reading, and hanging out with her cat.
